CARNIVORE FLEAS Family Vermipsyllidae Identification: Similar to Malacopsyllidae, but with clypeal tubercle small and rounded or lacking, and without long bristles near end of abdomen. Parasites of carnivores.

This is a small group whose members are parasites of bears, wolves, and other large carnivores. They resemble some Pulicidae in lacking genal and pronotal combs, but have 2 rows of bristles on most abdominal terga. They occur in the West.
