Ongoing Research

With support from the Leverhulme Trust a project on forensic acarology has recently been started at the Bangor University in Wales in collaboration with Bryan D. Turner of King's College London and Anne S. Baker of the Natural History Museum London. It will be a first approach on identifying mites associated with corpses and it includes not only the study of the occurrence of acarological fauna on the body along the stages of decomposition but also a survey on the phoretic mites arriving on arthropods.

Acknowledgement MAP and HRB wish to thank the Leverhulme Trust for support of this work.
